Lots of exciting things are coming to our community and we want to make sure that you are aware of as much of these as possible!! Therefore, I’ve created this spinoff from our regular newsletter to give this information a proper place.

The Hope Center Foundation and Chicago Neighborhood Initiatives have partnered to build 1,000 affordable new homes in the Roseland and Greater Pullman area. Some of these homes are being built down the street from CICS Prairie!! An informational session is taking place this Thursday, May 11th at 6pm at the House of Hope, 742 East 111th Street. Spanish translators will be available. Watch your e-mail for a flyer with all the details for this event.
El Hope Center Foundation y Chicago Neighborhood Initiatives, dos organizaciones comunitarias, se han asociado para construir 1,000 casas nuevas y asequibles en las áreas de Roseland y Pullman. Algunas de estas casas se están construyendo al este de CICS Prairie por la Kensington. Se llevará a cabo una sesión informativa este jueves 11 de mayo a las 6 p.m. en la iglesia House of Hope, 742 esté 115. Habrá quienes traducen al español. INVEST South/West is a citywide initiative which focuses on developing areas of the city which have long gone neglected, including the Roseland/Pullman area. Part of the project focuses on redeveloping the Michigan Avenue business district and bringing mixed use buildings to the business corridor. The drawings of the proposed changes will include decorative planters, benches, banners, just to name a few.
INVEST South/West es una iniciativa para toda la ciudad que se centra en el desarrollo de áreas de la ciudad que han sido descuidadas durante mucho tiempo, incluyendo la zona de Roseland/Pullman. Parte del proyecto se centra en la remodelación del distrito de negocios de la avenida Michigan y trayendo edificios de uso mixto al corredor de negocios. Los dibujos de los propuestos cambios incluyen macetas, bancas, pancartas, entre otros más.
Next up is the expansion of CTA’s redline train service. Once completed, commuters will be able to ride from 95th street all the way south to 130th street. The Roseland station closest to CICS Prairie is going to be the one at Michigan Avenue between 115th and 116th streets. Additional Roseland stations will include one at 103rd and 111th Streets. Completion of the project is currently slated for 2027.
Lo siguiente es la expansión del servicio de trenes de línea roja de CTA. Una vez completado, los viajeros podrán viajar al sur desde la calle 95 hasta la calle 130. Veterans Brewery and Coffee Roaster will be another welcome addition to the Roseland/Pullman community and will be a combination microbrewery, coffee roaster, restaurant and café with a rooftop patio. The hope is to open next year. Developers plan to break ground this spring. The site for this project is the vacant land just west of 111th Street and Doty Avenue. Watch for more exciting updates!!
Veterans Brewery and Coffee Roaster será otra adición bienvenida a la comunidad de Roseland/Pullman y será una combinación de microcervecería, tostador de café, restaurante y cafetería con un patio en la azotea. La esperanza es abrir el año que viene. Los desarrolladores planean empezar el trabajo esta primavera.
